Makers own. #58 Built in 2005 and kept and played by Doc for a couple of years in his band. Went to N.Y. Briefly...then I got it. Bubinga and wenge wood. Newer miller Vellum skin head. 26 brackets. 12 inch pot. 25.5 scale. This banjo is literally alive in your hands...Its hanging on a bracket over on the bedroom wall and when I flip the light switch it hums noticeably. makes good music just hammer fretting! Two years ago I was at Wintergrass and had this banjo in at Docs display room and had him tune it up and put his handmade moon style bridge and arm rest, then we played every new banjo in his shop and mine...most sounded thin compared to this one...It is just exceptional. I need a saddle and mostly now just have time to play my mando and fiddle when I get a chance. but don't want to bag it completely, I worked too hard to learn so I would consider a trade for another lesser 5 string open back and at least $1000. Trade must be in good playing condition .
I have extras that go with this banjo. An excellent case, extra heads, strings, padded shoulder strap...etc....
