Hi All,
I'm selling this for a good friend down the road as he travels the world in his usual fashion. Here is his quote about the banjo:
"The banjo is a 1977 Baldwin Ode model C. This is before the Gretch guitar company took over Baldwin and dropped the Baldwin banner. They are thought to be a tad better made than the Gretch models (they simply say Ode) and are both more collectible and fabulous to play. There is a tad inside the rim with its serial number etc. I have attached pictures - NB there is a Cox tp on the banjo and not the Price in the picture."
That said, I'll have to say this is a sweet banjo. It has a tiny piece of binding trying to make an escape, but nothing a little glue can't remedy. Otherwise, the neck is straight and the pot sounds great.
Walnut neck and resonator.
An awesome banjo for the price.
Comes with a GoldTone HSC.
We both have very positive seller feedback.
I can also *try* put you in touch with him if you prefer to ask questions to him directly, assuming that we can find the traveling banjoer. :-)
I will do my best to answer as well.
