This banjo is basically the same instrument as the Morgan Monroe MGB-1C. It has a lot of the same features, and looks to be constructed of identical parts from the same factory.
I removed the original clear head in favor of a top frosted Remo, which I consider to be an upgrade, not only in looks, but in tone as well. I also upgraded the bridge, which also made a significant improvement in the sound. I shimmed the neck to lower the action to an acceptable 1/8" at the 12th fret when using the 5/8" bridge.
No major play wear showing, other than the plating on the tailpiece, with lighter wear to the armrest. The frets and board are fine.
All in all, this is what I consider a very fine banjo in this price range, and should make a great starter to intermediate instrument.
I'm asking $450 + shipping. Hard shell case is included.
