Essentially new, babied and in 99.5% condition Gold Star GF-200-1952. This limited edition, unique Gold Star banjo was modeled after Earl's Granada that was returned to him from Gibson in the late '40's after needing a replacement fretboard with a bow-tie inlay, which was popular at the time. Gibson's replica of that exact banjo was called the "49 Classic," the Gold Star being called the "1952." During the first production run, Saga only produced 12 of these. A second run produced another set number, I've heard 24, but I cannot confirm. That makes this one of potentially 36 Gold Star GF-200-1952's ever made. The retail on this banjo new is $1925.00. Gold Star put their top wood selection, finish, best components and highest assembly QC on this model. This banjo is as impressive as many costing 3-4 times as much. Some light discoloration on the head, otherwise could be considered brand new and untouched. This banjo is a firecracker, and the sunburst maple finish is breathtaking. Waiverly tuners, spiked at 7, 9, 10 and 12. Guardian hardshell case (99% condition) included. Thinning the banjo herd, thus sale only -- not interested in trades at this time. Thanks for looking!
