1925 Gibson TB-3 Conversion
To the best of my knowledge, the pot assembly has all original parts. The resonator has been refinished to match the 5-string neck. Original Grover Presto tailpiece has been punched. It's currently set-up with a period correct hide head. Heck, even the tuners are pre-war, except for the geared 5th peg. Who wants to fight with a friction peg these days? Certainly not me. Anyway, I decided to go with the '26 style neck, as I prefer that look over the original '25. The original tenor neck with Grover two-tab tuners is also included in the sale. It's been refinished (all done in the correct color) to match the original resonator.
If you're familiar with these old ball-bearing banjos, then you know what they are capable of when dialed in correctly. They are about pre-war as it gets. :^) This one is sweet and sassy, with plenty of volume. If you've been craving an old Gibson Mastertone, one that won't break the bank, look no further. You'll love this banjo, or I'll buy it back. Simple as that. (Terms and conditions apply.)
