I've been calling this instrument a "Golden Laydie" because of the vintage Vega Whyte Laydie pot and the Gold Tone Neck. The pot,10 15/16, 1924, is original except for the Remo Renaissance head, Grover bridge and No Knot tailpiece.
The neck, 2007, Gold Tone, Looks clean with its scooped rosewood fingerboard and unique inlays. The contour of this neck makes it extremely playable and the name Whyte Laydie speaks for itself. It is well suited for old time Claw hammer/ Frailing and has volume enough to hold its own. The two, neck and pot, blend into each other and make a wonderful pairing
I would like to get $1150 +shipping. If you are interested, please contact me and I will try to answer any questions. I will include a gig bag.
I would not let this go if I did not have another and I can only play one at a time.
It is beautiful and plays even better than it looks.
