Gretsch Vintage 5-String Banjo Distributed by Wurlitzer
I originally believed this was a James Morrison banjo. The tag on the dowel rod is missing that would have the manufacturer's name. The pearl inlay is similar to Jas. Morrison banjos pictured on line. However, a member who had one on these confirmed it is a Gretsch.
The neck is straight and the frets are all original and in good condition. A few of the bracket nuts are newer but the same style as the originals. The straight pegs may be replacements.
There is a small 1 1/2" stress crack partway on the back of the peghead but it does not go all the way through and does not reach the peghead overlay which is 3/16 " thick. The pegs holds well.
