A very nice example of the classic Blackjack—serial #75-0709-38.
Plays nicely, sounds typically like a good mahogany Gibson. Excellent 4th string, nice pop at higher tensions, appropriate tubbiness at lower tensions. I've owned, worked on, and set up five Blackjacks; this is the second best one for sound.
All original permanent components, Crowe ring, serial #5969.
Frets show minimal wear; appear to be original, look lightly crowned. No structural issues. Action is medium-low with healthy neck relief. New StewMac head, new Custom Light GHS PF 155 strings.
Cosmetics: Wear on the armrest, normal tarnish. Tuner discoloration on logo on peghead. Assorted light dings, scratches, abrasions, but overall very nice condition.
Original "The Gibson" case in excellent condition.
Interesting trades always considered (I have yet to experience a Yates Ron Stewart...); direct sale preferred.
Thanks for looking!
John
