early 1900's Rettberg and Lange 5 string openback Banjo. I am calling this a Rettberg and
Lange as the inlays are virtually identical to the orpheum #1 inlays and two "experts"
have told me that is what it most likely is, although they were not sure about the pot,which is
spun metal over maple. The banjo is in ready to play condition and has been my own playing
out banjo for many years. Despite not having a tone ring, this banjo is very spunky and is an
excellent banjo for clawhammer. Walnut ? neck ,real good tuners,new renaisance head, scooped fingerboard for round peak style, and it's already programmed to play old timey and
contra=dance music.
