Fully restored Bacon & Day tenor banjo # 6 with a history. I bought it while visiting Australia the 29 Nov 1999. This banjo was bought new (serial number 28754 that is being produced in 1929) and used by Mr Walley Hadley (see picture from BMG 1940's) from Perth who was a star banjo performer after the second world war together with Freddie Morgan, the goofy-looking banjo player in various bands led by Spike Jones.
The banjo is in mint condition after being restored. It has been fully re-gold plated, cleaned and the frets and engravings have been redone/changed. All parts except new tension bolts are original. It plays well with a mounted new genuine calf skin.
The reason I sell it is that a barely play banjo any more and I am going for retirement.
