This is a Limited Edition Cox Fairchild banjo. Jim Cox and Raymond Fairchild got together and designed this banjo. A total of 200 were made and this one is #35 and was made in 1995. The serial # F35N is stamped into the Cox wood rim. Metal parts are nickle plated. It has a beautiful figured maple neck and resonator. Nice tiger stripes on the neck and the back of the resonator looks like it's on fire. See pictures. Tube and plate flange, 5-Star tuning pegs, beautiful MOP inlays on an Ebony fingerboard. All the parts on this banjo were made in the USA as stated by Jimmy Cox. Actually Jimmy made just about all the parts. The TKL Hardshell case is in great condition also. RR spikes installed at 7th and 9th frets.
These Cox Fairchild banjos seldom come up for sale especially in this condition. They are a collectors item now and will be more so as time passes. The fit, finish, sound and volume is truly outstanding as you probably already know from reading reviews on Cox banjo's. Many Gibson banjo's used Jim Cox parts. It blows away many a Mastertone. No fret wear, gouges, repairs or any of those issues with this banjo. Its the real deal. The new owner of this banjo is going to love and be proud of it! $2600 or best offer. Shipping is $45 to Continental Address only.
I can be reached at 803-663-7461 EST in South Carolina if you would like to see and play this banjo or ask more questions. I'm retired and usually around the homestead. It's a great banjo as the pictures show.
