This is a banjo put together by BHO member Banjodr, if you have ever heard, played or seen one of his banjo's you know what quality appearance and sound they have! He KNOWS what a real pre war sound is! He uses a combination of original pre war parts combined with the best of recent components! (Huber Ring, Frank Neat neck). This banjo bosts a pre war rim with a Huber flat head ring - this ring is pre - "name etched on the outside skirt" so it blends well visually with all of the pre war parts. What follows is taken from the description when I purchased it: This banjo is a composition of parts that I have collected over the years from other purchases and trades and case candy etc. I'll start with the inside and work out. The rim is a refinished pre war Gibson style TB-11. Rual Yarboro had it done in the early 90's. It is finished in the style of a Gibson pre war style 3 or 75. The rim has an early Steve Huber 20 hole flatead nickel tone ring installed on it. The serial number for the tone ring is 32198 1 which indicates it is one of the very early Huber rings. The flange is pre war with the Doeller casting mark. The hoop is newer First Quality. The hooks and nuts are newer FQ also. Pre war Grover presto tailpiece. Armrest is 50's Gibson. Neck is mahogany Frank Neat style 3 leaves and bows The resonator was reskinned in the early 90's also in the mahogany style 3 with white black white concentric rings. This banjo is as old Gibson clanky sounding as you would ever want to have. It looks the part and sounds the part. Now you can have it and enjoy it without breaking the bank. Old original instruments seemingly have held most of their value during this crappy economic time so now you have the chance to get the pre war engine with the right look and feel. This banjo has as much pop as you would ever want and take it to your next jam and see who gets all the attention. Included is a hard shell case. Remember it is not a collector banjo based on originality, it is an A$$ kicking workhorse that will rock your bluegrass world. Sold as described, Shipping to Continental US only. (I have been contacted by several people offering or asking to trade, I am not interested in any trades at this time and would not even consider selling this beast except a couple weeks after acquiring it I had the opportunity to get an old Granada and I just don't need any more banjos at the present time.
