This may be a model 238. Has an Oettenger tailpiece and comes with a feather light case. Shaller D tuners. Compensated bridge. Some definite fretwear but it doesn't seem to effect the sound or playability. This is one of the best sounding banjos I have ever owned. Very heavy tone ring. The American flag is a paper plate taped to the inside of the resonator. If you believe there was a golden age of Japanese banjos, this is one of them. Great banjo for someone who wants a pro sound for a few bucks. I will be sorry to see this one go but right now I have more banjos than brains.
