Beautiful and rare George Washburn Banjo, #4087 on dowel stick. 21 Frets. 26-1/2" scale length (from nut to last fret). Waverly tension tailpiece. Engraved Shell has 26 Imperial Brackets Hooks and Nuts (one original nut missing). Brass tension hoop (notched). Heel carving. Inlaid ebony heel cap. Friction pegs. This beauty is in excellent shape. I have owned it for 32 years. It was a gift to my late husband and has sat unplayed for the last 10 years. Amazingly, it has stayed in tune all this time. Basically new hardshell case also. I sent many photos to Elderly Instruments about 9 years ago and they valued it at $2500. My price includes shipping anywhere in the U.S. Please email for additional information. I have done some research but it's hard to find info on this instrument. But if you know your stuff, you know this banjo is a rare find. I hope to find it a good home with someone who appreciates it and plays it. It sounds amazing!. Thanks for looking.
