New Dean Robinson Lightweight Openback banjo. The banjo is constructed of beautiful curly maple and cherry. The pot has a turned flange in order to eliminate the L shoes and also a turned curly maple tone ring. The neck is held to the pot with an ebony wedge in order to eliminate the weight of the neck brace hardware. The result is a lightweight banjo that has a very sweet and warm tone and can still stand up in a jam. The ebony fretboard has pearl position markers and side dots, and also a 2 way truss rod with an exposed nut in the scoop. The nut is bone and the 5th string pip is ebony. The headstock has an ebony face plate and is adorned with a single pearl star that is engraved. The finish is a french polish and is very nice to the touch. A handmade maple and ebony compensated bridge sits on an Elite Fiberskin head with a no-knot tailpiece and a vega style arm rest to complete the pot. This is a very beautiful and great sounding instrument.
