I am selling an excellent condition Recording King RK-R35 banjo that has minimal use. I purchased this banjo brand new earlier this year, and haven't really had the chance to enjoy it. I am hoping it will go to someone who cares for the instrument more than I do. I can send pictures through email or text upon request. I am willing to meet halfway if need be, and will include around 10 different playing picks, a few beginner-intermediate banjo books, and a padded carrying case. This is an absolutely wonderful sounding banjo that has been restrung last month, great for any level of player. You can reach me at 773-369-4741.

For Sale: A.C Fairbanks Whyte Ladye #7, near mint,Consalvi engraved, thin rim, original leather case - $11,000 USD
Not sure i really want to do this,but here goes........
I'm thinking about time/life/mortgages/ and looking at the fact that i'm not really playing much at the moment.
So I thought about letting a few high end pieces go, one of them being the crown jewel of my banjo collection, my 1906 Fairbanks WL #7
This banjo was discussed at length about 4 years ago here on the hangout,(look up "fairbanks whyte ladye #7 ,its here!") and it was hailed as one of the nicest examples of one of these in existence.
The Consalvi engraving is beautiful, the maple neck and rim are stunning, gold plated tuners with pearl buttons, the leather Reliance case is in good shape, its as nice a vintage WL as you are ever going to find.
This is a museum quality instrument.
all original,apart from 4 cobra hooks that i sourced from another early fairbanks,and a Joel Hooks bridge.
I will give a full description and send lots of photos to any interested buyers, and am happy to discuss this by phone/email/etc
I'm out in Australia, but if you're really interested, then come and have a look! I'm happy pick you up from the airport !
anyway,it probably wont sell,as i'm going to put a high price on it, but the thought of not selling it actually makes me happier than the thought of selling it.
Price $11 000 USD (thats eleven thousand,not eleven hundred, or one hundred and ten)

For Sale: FOR SALE - $5,500 USD
Up for your consideration an excellent example of a 2001 Gibson Granada. I purchased this banjo new in July of 2001 and it is in like new condition. I have played it some around the house but I don't believe I have ever taken it out of the house since 2001. The banjo is absolutly beautiful and sounds just as good. I have other banjos that I play instead of this one simply because I wanted to keep this banjo in like new condition. Everything is original as from the Gibson factory. I have added gold Keith D tuners but have the original tuners to go with it. Comes with a hardshell case. If your looking for a great sounding Granada in pristine condtion then you won't be disappointed. This is a great banjo!!!
Serious inquiries only please.

For Sale: Huber Kalamazoo Truetone banjo - Excellent++ Condition - $3700 - $3,600 USD
Pretty-new Huber Truetone Kalamazoo. I bought this banjo new last November at 12th Fret in Toronto, where it narrowly won the day against a VRB-3 and easily beat out a whole slew of other really nice banjos. Just picked up another Huber (Truetone Mills!) so this one's got to go. Call me fickle (it's true...)
I don't play all that much and I don't beat on my instruments, so there really isn't a mark on her. Even the armrest has barely a sign of wear. No scratches or dings. The sound is superb- violently explosive, with great, big gobs of tone up and down the neck. The straight-grain maple neck gives it a lot of balls. It does have a radiused-fretboard, which I have to say isn't really my thing. So hopefully the right player will pick this up and play the heck out of it.

For Sale or Trade: 1928 Gibson TB-2, full original package includes original tenor neck, case, and head - $3,950 USD
Hi All,
Straight-grained walnut Robin Smith neck, a TINY hair wider than usual (specs below*) but still representative of the usual shape and feel. The neck is relatively new so there are no issues of bend, twist, or even fret wear even though it's seen a good amount of play time. Flawless Nick Lucas style inlays, as found on a typical TB-2 of that era before the pearloid took over. It is a 1928 (as stated in the 21st fret pearl block), and I wanted it to be as period-correct as possible. One exception: I changed "THE Gibson" to just "Gibson" on the peghead...Personal quirk of mine. :-)
Original tenor neck included, which still has it's original tuners. Standard fatter rim, and UNCUT with the original tone hoop. It has a great sound as it is, but also gives you the freedom to drop a tone ring in there. In-person appraisal included from Robin Smith's hands (appraisal for banjo only, significantly above asking price. Original tenor neck, case, and tuners are bonuses). It is listed on the Greg Earnest Prewar Banjo website here: earnestbanjo.com/gibson_banjo_...47-71.htm
FON: 8947-71, on both rim and resonator. This is the FULL original package. I'm even including the original 4-string "The Gibson" case which is still fully functional and in really good shape. I can't imagine anything else that could make this a more complete package. Oh yeah, I have the original head what was on it, also!! Beyond useable, but a nice collector piece.
More pics: dartmouth.edu/~smg6/pics_tb2.shtml
(The bottom picture has a shadow over the binding: No problem there.)
Pics of the stamped rim and marked resonator are available by request...I keep taking it out to get those pics, but then I end up playing the darn thing and forgetting!!
Well cared for: Humidity monitored, no smoke, no kids, no pets. My seller rating is stellar.
Here's the issue: I am 100% fine with a return policy, but I'm trying not to ship it. So if you're in the NorthEast, excellent. I'll even drive down to most of PA and over to NY to meet. Play it for a few hours in-person. See what you think. Includes a cool-looking 5-string tweed case, though I can't remember if it is Guardian or TKL.
If you are in the area (or close enough), and you think you may be interested, shoot me a note. Looking for the asking price, but a trade with cash could be considered. I have weaknesses for Fielding and Kel Kroydon's, but let me know and we can see if it works. Anything with straight-grain maple. TB-1's. Pyramid or Cox Carolina tone rings. Anything that Robin Smith has ever had a hand in.... Yeah, plenty of weaknesses!! Just ask, there can be cash on either side if the right match is found. Maybe a Huber. Maybe an archtop, for variety...
Another reason not to ship: As mentioned above, I want to include the original 4-string case which is in really nice condition, as well. So two cases gets big and heavy!
* Width at nut=1.250", 4th=1.395", 5th=1.670", 22nd=1.940"
* Depth/Thickness at nut= 0.810", 5th=0.860", 10th=0.890", 15th=1.000"

For Sale: 1927 Gibson TB1 conversion to 5-string (REDUCED) - $1,795 USD
Up for sale is a 1927 Gibson hex-flange TB1 that has been converted to five string by adding a "Sullivan" made (First Quality) neck that has a double cut peghead and basic "dot" inlays as per the original tenor had. This banjo plays and sounds great with the original rolled brass hoop. It has the beefy 3-ply rim with the Gibson label and is a shoe & lug banjo. Adding a quality flathead tonering would make this one into a killer banjo, but in my opinion it sounds wonderful as-is. The price with a hard shell case is $1795.00 (at this time) plus shipping. I have seen similar ones that had fancier necks on them listed on here for much higher. Whoever ends up with this banjo will not be disappointed in how good it plays and sounds. I will take pictures soon and can e-mail them as needed. I may consider selling just the "pot assembly" and using the neck on something else as I really like the feel of this neck. Feel free to call with any questions. Thanks for looking, Mike Guggemos Winsted, Mn. 612-756-4588

For Sale or Trade: Kentucky Rose 5 string by Ernie Wells-YOU GOTTA SEE THIS! - $10,000 USD
This is a custom build by Ernie Wells of Connersville Indiana. Ernie built 2 of these and this one is from January of 1983. It features the engraving work of Ron Chacey who is without question one of the most talented engravers out there and this banjo shows some of his finest work. This is an extremely heavily gold plated instrument (not a flash plate.) Ernie Wells is known worldwide for his abalone inlay work and his banjo builds and this is one of his finest examples. One piece highly figured maple neck and resonator. Keith tuners, Pearloid fingerboard featuring Ernie's "Kentucky Rose" abalone handiwork is as good as it gets. Beautiful checkerboard binding and hand painted headstock with E Wells as the builder at the top. It has a 20 hole tone ring that Ernie says is one of the best he'd ever come across. The finish is absolutely stunning. There are only a few signs of wear over the years. One ding in the back of the neck, a couple of small dings on the resonator binding and some plating wear on the crest of the arm rest. I have more pics that I will forward to truly interested parties. This banjo comes housed in a red interior Gibson hard case. I won't try and describe sound as it's too objective. I certainly welcome calls to discuss this item. I can be reached at 513-379-0497. Interested in taking Martin/Collins Brazilian Rosewood guitars in trade plus cash. Or possibly all guitars. Ernie says to build another one as heavily gold plated as this one is would be at least $15K. If you're looking for a flagship to add to your collection, this might be it. Email me thru the ad with your email address and I'll forward more pics. s444.photobucket.com/user/tele...ky%20Rose

For Sale: Recording King RB-036 Ne Ultra Plus w/Guardian case - $900 USD
This is a near mint, call it MINT minus condition RB-036. Certainly the most ornate in the RK line. This is their flagship open-back 5 string. This is a very early serial number China build. Plays great and sounds great to my ear. Has the Whyte Ladie tone ring. Includes a new Guardian 5 latch case. The RB-036 hasn't been in production for a while so here's a rare opportunity to pick up one of the fanciest open-backs ever built.

For Sale: For Sale: Pre-War Supertone w/George Banjos neck - $1,100 USD
For sale a nice prewar Supertone pot with Georges Banjos neck. Tommy was able to save the original celluloid peghead veneer and heel cap features ,the peghead was beefed up with some matching binding, and this neck is a real gem on that count alone! A five-piece laminated neck with figured walnut and maple is paired with a rosewood fretboard and slotted diamond, mother of pearl position markers, and frailing scoop. The original pot features a Bacon FF tone ring for that really premium old-time sound. I added a calf skin head off of a 1940's Gibson. I have a 5/8 spice bridge on it now. The banjo sounds and looks great, here is a video of the banjo from Tommy's site, in the video it has a plastic head on it, it is a little warmer sounding now but this will give you an idea of the tone. youtube.com/watch?v=cZJ6MgwRB0I
Comes with a lightweight hard case.
Any questions or need better pictures please let me know.
Thanks, Aaron
