2005 Gibson Earl Scruggs Golden Deluxe Additional pics at the "More Info URL" link below. I won't bore you with the specs on this banjo. Most of you know what we have here. If not, shoot me an email, and I'll gladly provide a detailed description. It's basically a Granada, but with an ebony board and two extra inlays. Of course it has Earl's name on the truss rod cover, and also an authentic signature on the Mastertone label, which is a definite bonus in my mind. It's in overall excellent condition. There is one small ding on the back of the neck. No flaws in the resonator finish that I can see. There is minor wear on first three frets, with the majority being on the second fret, third string. I did have to replace the tailpiece, as the original broke right in the bend. I switched out the engraved "Deluxe" cover to the new one. Also, the armrest has some normal wear to the plating, and a small repair near the bolt hole. It's steady as a rock, but I thought it should be pointed out. It should be clearly visible in the pics. I have a new, (non-engraved) gold plated armrest that I'll include if the buyer wants it. I recently installed a newish Snuffy Smith head and also one of his fine bridges. This combo seems to bring out the best in this particular banjo. In case you're wondering, this beauty has one of the so called Gibson "mystery rings" in it. I believe these were made by a company called Precision Molders. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that. Anyway, it's a great sounding ring to my ear. As many of you know by now, Gibson banjo production stopped a couple of years ago, and by all indications, they have no plans to start up again anytime soon. Even if they eventually do, will there be any more Scruggs models made? If so, did Earl leave behind any signed labels for future production? I seriously doubt it. Only time will tell. I have more pics available if needed. The banjo will come shipped in the original Gibson hard case with combo lock. Or, I can upgrade it to a Guardian fiberglass case (light grey) for an additional $100. $4,395.00 + shipping $4,495.00 with the Guardian case (+ shipping)
