Several months ago I was looking for a "lightweight banjo that I could get true amplification from." So I decided to order a Deering Goodtime 2 Classic with built-in KAVANJO HEAD. In the meantime things have changed and I've purchased 2 other banjos and no longer need a "stage/amplified" banjo. I hate to part with this one for several reasons but I've gotta move it.
Banjo lists for $909, Kavanjo head for $299, or a total list price of over $1200. This banjo is NEW IN THE BOX, just arrived, never been played and I'll sell it at a deeply discounted $895 (just to cover the cost of one of my other banjos).
This is a great banjo for stage or beginner, especially young people learning the banjo who LOVE TO AMP THEIR PLAYING! This is a cool-looking, easy-to-handle banjo that is FUN-to-play (I've had a Goodtime 2 for years and LOVE it!).
"With a Bluegrass resonator back, The Classic Goodtime 2 banjo has a 3-ply violin grade maple rim and produces a bright and clear tone. The Classic 2 is enhanced with a Rich Brown stain, white detailing and spikes at 7, 9, and 10…"
It was built with a Kavanjo head/pickup installed directly from Deering. "The Kavanjo Banjo Pickup System is a magnetic humbucking pickup (jack is built into the banjo and not on the head). This is the newest and we believe the most effective way to amplify ANY banjo, while maintaining the instruments authentic characteristics. Requires no pre-amp! Made in the USA!"
