A mid twenties model 12" hoop 'Recording Banjo' made by Fred Van Eps in Plainfield, New Jersey. Featuring nickel plated
bowl, raised neck/fingerboard location to higher bridge. The banjo has a scalloped 'top tension ring', a feature incorporated
into FVE's later 'flush fret' banjos. Two owners from new, plus seller. Supporting correspondence
from original owner's widow goes with banjo. Note slight wear on wrist rest plating. Solid original case in good condition.
A very loud banjo for the serious player. No time wasters please.
