For Trade: Robin Smith/Outlier banjo

Hi Everyone, I have for sale or trade a banjo that has a Robin Smith pot assembly and a really cool neck made by my friend Ben Pearce (who builds mandolins and guitars using the name Outlier workshop). The pot assembly is a Dannick rim with one of the American made banjo company's NASA aluminum flathead tonerings (so the banjo weighs about 8 pounds). The resonator (I believe is a gill) is stained a rich chocolate brown color and has style four purfling and cream binding. The bridge is 3/4ths tall and the tension hoop is unplated. (The price tailpiece shown in the photos is not included, I will put a presto on it, either unplated or plated, whichever you want!) The neck of the banjo is mahogany and is laminated with two thin strips of ebony, which makes the neck pretty stable. The peghead overlay is ebony and it has Ben's trademark squid inlayed in it (it's the only banjo in the world with this inlay, and probably will be for a while!). The fingerboard is cocobolo and has a compound radius that is 7" at the nut. The neck is a little bit wider and thicker, which is what I prefer. The neck has a very comfortable "C" shape. This banjo sounds very deep and rich, it could be set up to get many different sounds, be it bluegrassy or more mellow. Right now I have it set up pretty dark. The aluminum tonering sounds great as it is, but it would probably sound great with a full weight ring too. I might be interested in trading this for a another banjo, let me know if you have anything you might want to trade! $2500 with hardshell case! Thanks for looking! -Gabe
