set up for nylon strings and currently using fishing line. the weights vary with the tunings but I will send extra pieces of 30#,40#,50#,60# and some wound 4th strings. It currently has an all nylon set up with a nylon 4th string. It is set up for open G(E) tuning but is easily changed...GDGBD with a capo on the 3Rd fret
I would be happy to talk about what it takes to change to steel strings.
I changed out all the Gold painted parts for new nickel from Deering and StewMac. I do not have the gold parts. I added Grover Rotomatics. The hooks and nuts are changed for Rickard closed end 9/32 nuts and StewMac hooks. These are the best! The banjo has a warm and loud woody tone with a new tight white frosted head. It comes with 2 5th string capos, one of the old wire type and a Schubb. The nylon 5th string sharpens up a lot and needs retuning when useing the capo. I have found the best way is to slip the string off of the new post and let it sit on the fret...going flat, it sharpens back up to pitch when the capo is applied.
It has a Kerschner tail piece and a little down force seems to increase volume.
strap not included ...
Banjo will be shipped after confirmed payment...NO AGENT PICK-UP before, ...shipping to lower 48 only
