1926 Gibson TB-2 Tenor Banjo, amazingly clean, complete, unmolested, pre-war Gibson classic with 11" head diameter [older calfskin], 1/2" circular brass tone ring, 3-ply Maple rim, flat plate diamond-hole flange, original Grover Presto tailpiece, original Grover tuners, Maple neck and resonator with original walnut stain, 18 fret Brazilian rosewood fretboard with Nick Lucas style inlays and the original hard case is in very good condition. This is the real deal - not a parts banjo.
Gruhn Guitars, Nashville, TN: "...in our opinion, a Gibson style TB-2 made in 1926. This instrument appears to be in exceptionally fine original condition showing no repairs or modifications." FON 8439-98 is stamped inside rim and chalked twice, large and small, in the resonator, but there is no Gibson sticker.
Of all the Prewar Gibson banjos at the Orlando FL Guitar Show in January 2011, this Gibson TB-2 was by far, in the best original condition. Great player or excellent conversion candidate. MAKE me an OFFER! Thanks for looking!
