This came into the shop last week. The serial number dates it back to 1921 (first year of production), they were $185-$200 back then. This is a 19 fret Paramount C style tenor banjo Wm L Lange, with tons of gorgeous engraved mother of pearl inlays and beautiful wood work. This banjo is all original from the tuning pegs, all the way down to the tailpiece and in great shape for its age! It appears that the metal may have been gold plated at one point. This banjo is extremely clean and in excellent shape for its age, with no cracks, major wear, or deep scratches. The C style was one of the fancier models produced at the time and is a professional grade instrument. It has a pretty unique arch top tone ring. Like I've stated, this is ALL original, even the frets, the only non original part is the head, it is an old skin head dated 1942. Comes with an old hardshell case with a leather handle, I don't believe the case is original though. It will be shipped out with the case and the banjo will be polished up, have new strings, and be in tip top playing condition!
