Bart was still calling this banjo an A scale when I purchased it from him in 2010. He now calls it an Ab scale. Short (~24 3/4") scale neck works well for either A or standard G tuning - Mahogany 2-piece neck, 11" maple rim (mahogany stain) with walnut rim cap, rolled brass tone hoop, Elite Amber head. Five Star planetary tuning pegs, adjustable truss rod, ebony fretboard (1-1/4" wide at nut) is scooped from 17th fret to rim for easy play over the neck, ebony peghead overlay with pearl star inlay. NOTE: Bart now calls this an A-flat scale banjo. A true A-scale banjo has an approx 23" scale. Bart takes just the first fret length off this one in order to use his standard adjustable truss rod. D'Addario light strings for tuning in A and D without a capo (Bart's recommendation), originally came with medium strings. Extra strings included. Some finish chipping on the rim cap by the neck, otherwise virtually mint condition. Comes with TKL case.
