Beautiful Gibson RB-100 archtop banjo from 1957. Recently acquired from the original owner who purchased it during the folk era of the late 1950s. He replaced the stock tailpiece with a "bearclaw" style piece that is much more functional. Very loud and full sound with deep warm tones. "Curly" maple resonator is held with three thumbscrews rather than the traditional four. Finish has aged well but the metal could use a good polishing. Serial number is stamped on inside of the 3 ply chocolate brown rim. Hard case included (not original.)
