Esteemed craftsman Wayne Sagmoen built a block pot and attached it to a neck i had with lovely inlay and a finely carved heel. The pot is 11", and it's 1 and 1/4" at the nut. It is basically new and in excellent condition. I have hardly played it, although it has a full, yet sweet sound. The neck is straight and all hardware matches. Here's what Wayne said about the pot:
"I built a 1/2 inch thick, eleven inch diameter block pot using pieces of curly maple (to match to the neck) with a layer of cocobolo exotic hardwood for the tone ring. It has a good sound and plays well. I used a tung-oil finish on the pot which is different than the finish on the neck but I was unable to identify the finish or match it."
This is the first of a number of banjos i must sadly part with due to unexpected expenses. There's no case, but i might be able to find one if desired.
