2002 Sullivan Bardstown for sale. This is the same banjo that was on the list a few weeks ago (serial number 0065). I purchased it and replaced the armrest, tailpiece (Fults), bridge (Snuffy Smith), and head (The American Banjo Co.). All the metal parts have been cleaned and polished. There is still some aging on some of them but they are in good condition. This banjo has been "speed necked" and the neck is in very good condition and feels great for playing. There are some things that you need to know about this instrument: 1- there is some fret wear but it does not affect playing; 2- there are some scratches on the resonator; 3- this is the banjo that had the peghead broken and repaired. The repair was excellent and the only place I could tell that this had happened was on the binding underneath the neck (as seen in the picture); and 4- there is a little discoloration on the peghead. On the positive side, it sounds, plays, and looks like a Sullivan. In fact, that's exactly what it is. I am a huge fan of Sullivan banjos but have decided to sell this one to pursue my "Holy Grail" banjo; otherwise, I would not be parting with it, especially after what I have done to it. The black hardshell case comes with it but I'm keeping the BHO strap. Thanks for looking.
