For Trade: 1954 gibson tb-100 conversion

well I am still in search for that perfect banjo so maybe you have it? I traded for this banjo here while back and although this is a killer banjo its still not what I am looking for.....this started out as a 1954 tb-100 ...and was converted using a mcpeake tone ring...and bill Sullivan built conversion neck...the pot is all original with the exeption of the added ring and 5 string presto...I hardly ever play this banjo and should be in the hands of someone who will....I would love to trade it for a nice great lakes banjo or nechville xxv....I would also consider a yates mahogany expecialy my old yates (serial # 9467-59-0067) dated 4-22-2010.....so if you have something of interest just shoot me a message...this would need to be a hands on in person trade....thanks

For Trade: mike hedrick custom 5 string banjo w/calton case

well for the ones familiar with mike hedrick you know he is one of the best banjos builders out there! and this is just one fine example of his work, not only is this a gorgeous piece of art but is also a phenominal playing and sounding banjo!..mike is the one whom supplied first quality music with the wood for the old growth rims!this banjo was built for travis tritt for a show he was going to be doing involvolving the use of this banjo in that show ,but by a streak of bad luck the banjo was stolen right after its completion and before being delivered to travis...after years of eluding the public the banjo was finaly recovered and returned to mike,....this banjo is truly a work of art and was built using first quality parts...it is gold plated with the kings crown engraving pattern...you can visit raymerstudio.com to see some of the old first quality engraving patterns also featuring this pattern "kings crown" ...the banjo has hand inlayed resonator screws w/pearl & abaloni inlays! (very expensive)...the rim is a old growth rim from sullivan....the ring is a first quality cryogenic ring...the neck and reso are maple with multiple coats of white/clear laquer...it has the "legends" inlayed at the 21rst fret symbolizing the bluegrass greats the show was about...other than an area of finish checking on the bottom edge of the resonator (shown in last picture) miraculously the banjo survided its uninvited journey and after a good cleaning and set-up is ready for pickin... ..the calton case is a rare reverse opening model built for first quality music ..it is a little scuffed up and the handle is a little worn but is still travel ready...trade value for this banjo is $4000.00..I would consider interesting trades on maybe yates rs distressed ... a nechville xxv, nechville phantom galaxy,Gibson style 6 checkerboard or top tension..a nice great lakes top tension. or maybe something else in an upper line banjo.and also might consider an upper end f style mandolin such as Gibson/ellis/daley/etc.?..I would also consider a trade on a quality dread such as lucas...Henderson..etc....so if you have anything of interest just shoot me a message, thanks.

this is a very nice heartland banjo built by robin smith..it has the bill stokes showcase timeless timber pot assembly with the curtis mcpeake ring in it....the banjo sounds great but i have my heart set on a yates distressed mahogany with unplated ring..preferably my old yates (serial number #9467-59-0067 built 4-22-2010 )..I would also consider a nice great lakes banjo...this banjo was built in 2002 and as you can see has not been played that much and is in very nice condition....it was built for and owned by jesse t harmon who was the banjo player for roby huffman and the bluegrass cutups ...his initials was placed at the 20th fret but this would be easy to have removed or just leave it as it is......SO!!! if you have a yates mahogany you would trade just shoot me a message.i might consider other trades on banjos/guitars/mandolins? and would consider a nice smaller enclosed utility/cargo trailor as partial trade..this will need to be a hands on deal in person....thanks.

For Sale: Bishline Midnight Moon - $2,000 USD

I'm selling my trusty Bishline Midnight Moon. It's been my main gigging banjo for about 5 years. It's an all maple banjo with a TP Schaeffer rim and (I believe) a Bishline tone ring. Currently outfitted with a Sullivan bridge and a renaissance head. Spikes at 7 and 9. The only semi major thing I changed was to remove the 5th string spike and add a 5th string nut (pip), installed by well-respected luthier Bruce Taggart. Known issues: Very small, shallow scratch in resonator (see pic). 5th tuning peg is loose, but doesn't slip at all (an easy fix, according to the folks in the setup and repair forum). Metal is dirty and needs a good polishing. A couple of the hooks have rust. Some fret wear on the first 5 frets. Beautiful, beautiful banjo. I just need money right now more than a pretty banjo! Bishline's necks are thin and lightning fast. I think the setup I have on it now works well for my taste, but you could brighten it up with a remo head if you wanted to. Comes with a Bishline case. Edit: No longer entertaining partial trade offers.

For Sale: Ome Wizard - $2,695 USD

The Wizard is really a magical banjo with a fine, cherry stained curly maple neck and beveled cherry stained curly maple rim. The ebony fretboard is scooped at the base. It measures 1-5/16" at the nut with a comfortable 25-1/2 scale. The 11" all maple rim is a CUSTOM feature, as the standard model is mahogany. The wedge top delivers a tonal quality and clarity that is both powerful and sweet. It is equipped with a Renaissance head, aged brass hardware, and aged nickel planetary gears. The tone quality that this banjo has is really incredible!

For Sale: 1997 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard - $3,600 USD

1997 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard. All Original. I have owned quite a few re-issue Gibsons and this one was hands-down the best of the bunch. Loud, clear and growly just like they should be. They are not all created equal. Frets are in great shape and has spikes installed. There are a few very light beltmarks on the resonator. Beautiful wood and workmanship. It had a Shubb 5th string capo when I bought it so there are two small mounting holes where it used to be. I can include the Shubb if interested. The neck plays awesome. A great Gibson banjo that actually sounds as good as it looks. Original Gibson case. Why spend more for a Huber or a Yates or any other masterclone when you can get the real deal for less money that will appreciate in value instead of losing your shirt? I have included a video of this banjo in the More Info URL.

The following is the seller's description: Year made: 2008 Condition: Excellent to Mint; very little fret wear, no scratches or dings whatsoever. Highly figured Burl Walnut resonator Serial # 6539 Spikes at 7, 8, 9 & 10 11/16" Bridge Renaissance head installed Tony Pass Block Rim Professionally set up, medium light strings Original Stelling hardshell case and Tuner Key Original paperwork signed and numbered by Geoff Stelling pictured in photos with the case Add on: Custom Abalone Truss Rod Cover – see new photos… original black truss rod cover included Sound/Tone: Typical Stelling ‘blow you away’ sound. Excellent highs and lows and great sustain. Reason for selling??? I have another custom Stelling Butterfly (maple) which has a smaller neck that suits me perfectly. I don’t play this banjo and simply want to put it back into circulation. It’s too nice and pretty to not be out there being enjoyed by the right person. case. Asking Price: $5,500 This banjo new lists for $8,340 on Stelling’s website. There is of course a wait time of several months for a new instrument, and I don’t believe they use burl walnut anymore, only straight-grain wood, so it would likely be a custom order for burl walnut. Trades involving top quality, vintage OMEs will be considered. For someone looking for one of Stelling's flagship banjos, it simply doesn't get much better than this. All questions will be forwarded to the owner. Please allow 12-24 hours for a response.

For Sale: For sale: Bart Reiter Buckbee - $950 USD

I bought this banjo (#3892) in Sept. 2013 from a Hangout member. I liked it so much that I bought a Reiter "A Flat" which has a 24 3/4" scale. I found that the shorter scale worked best for me so I bought a Sagmoen short scale the first of this year and no longer need the Buckbee. I have the Buckbee set up with a black painted (on the inside) Renaissance head, Aquila "Super Nylguts" and a walnut bridge and tailpiece. The original "no knot" tailpiece will be included along with a new set of AMB cryo strings, the original ebony topped bridge and a couple of bridges for use with nylon strings. The Buckbee has a mahogany neck. I'll ship the banjo in a new, "Musician's Friend" hard case (with padding as the case is for a resonator banjo.) If you want the Nyguts but don't want the walnut tailpiece, I'll set the Nylguts up on the "No Knot". I'll also set the banjo up with steel strings on the No Knot tailpiece. There is a nick in the neck as shown in the picture. There is a RR spike at the 7th fret. Here's how the banjo sounds as it's set up now: banjohangout.org/myhangout/med...archived=

Up for sale is my Pisgah Silver Belle and included will be some very nice accessories. Top shelf all of them. Patrick at Pisgah built this one-off banjo in 2013. It looks like a Opossum model with a silver spun tone ring and a red dyed finger board. Also it has a Kershner adjustable tail piece installed. Everything will be included in the factory hard shell case. The banjo may have been made in 2013 but the original person who ordered it passed away before he could get it. The family had it and offered it to me. It was sitting in the case having never been setup. The banjo is in excellent like new condition. In addition to the banjo and hardshell case I will include a NeoTech Banjo strap, Elixir 10-23 strings, Wire armrest, Mikes Banjo mute, Korg clip on tuner, Sammy Shelor finger picks, Blue Chip thumb pick (large), 3 way wrench for banjo adjustment. This is a very nice setup if your upgrading, just wanting another or giving as a gift. Please contact me with any questions. This is the only Silver Belle that Patrick has ever made or will make. His words. Updated to add: It is a 12" pot in maple. Walnut neck and persimmon fingerboard that Patrick dyed red at the factory.

Gibson Mastertone banjo from late 60's. Full thickness rim and one- piece flange. I have 2 videos of me playing it on my hangout page videos (the second and third from the top) banjohangout.org/myhangout/vid...rID=22701 . It sounds and plays better now than it did. I replaced the nut with prewar style bone nut and pip and replaced the worn original jumbo frets with medium stainless steel frets. The 4 tuners are original and work great. The fifth string tuner was originally a friction type but I put a Waverly geared tuner in its place. The tuner buttons are original. The neck was broken and repaired long ago and is structurally sound. Has good old sound from the old wood. A great Gibson tone and power. I must be nuts for selling it. There's a marking on the headstock... Gibson, and on the fret board inlay...Mastertone.

For Sale: Fender Leo Deluxe - $1,000 USD

I've played and enjoyed this banjo for several years, and I didn't expect to sell it, but I've got two great banjos and really only need one. These Fender Leo Deluxe banjos are a far cry from the inferior made-in-Korea Fender banjos of recent years. They were made in Japan and exhibit fine craftsmanship, pretty woods, and a unique, vintage-inspired design. The flame maple resonator is especially striking, and I always liked the inlay work on this deluxe model. I don't know of any other option anywhere near this price range that competes on aesthetics, playability, and tone. Has spikes installed for the 5th string, but is otherwise all original. Comes with original Fender hardshell case. Please note - it does NOT come with the pictured leather strap.
